Ecommerce specialist – Phnom Penh, London, Prague
I’ve been an ecommerce specialist for over 10 years now. In this time ecommerce has changed significantly and what was cutting edge back then is just old now. Back then I built some of the first mobile ecommerce websites. Those were the days before responsive designs existed. Now everything (including Google Search) is mobile first.
I moved from the UK, where I worked on BIG ecommerce websites such as Waitrose, Argos and Figleaves. These were multi-million revenue generators, but what’s interesting is that the principles of ecommerce are the same from the biggest platform to the smallest. This includes Shopify and WordPress stores. What I do now is help store owners to understand how ecommerce works and how they can take advantage of the latest technology and trends.
Ecommerce Specialist – Digital Marketing
Between then and now I still see some of the same issues for new entrants and small stores. The ‘build it and they will come’ mentality is still there. I can pretty much guarantee that no one will come to your shiny new online store without a significant marketing campaign. If a search engine can’t place you on the first page, no customer will find you either.
A store owner will need a well thought out marketing strategy to run alongside their business. Whilst Social Media is essential to interact with a potential audience, there are still barriers to getting visitors from Social platforms to your website. All of the social platforms never want people to leave. Getting poor reviews, yes, I can help there too.
What works for one store won’t work for another. You need to understand your target market, what they want and how they like to buy before you can start selling. I work with store owners to understand their business, customers and then together we create a digital marketing strategy that will help them to grow their business online.

This is essentially where people see the value in my experience. If you’re having an issue with your ecommerce business, I’m fairly sure I’ll have seen the same or similar issue elsewhere. Conversions, abandoned carts, technical issues and many more. They aren’t new. Specialist services allow us to focus on each part of the customer journey in turn and take a holistic view of the results your company is seeing and address each one.
Management of ecommerce
There are so many working parts to ecommerce and managing an online store. Ecommerce specialists such as myself will help you define the problems and the solutions and build a programme of work to improve results. This will help you to focus on the important tasks and make sure that they get done. Having someone to bounce ideas off and to get an objective view from is so important when you are working in the details of your business.
